I was cruising around some of my feeds and noticed an announcement for Zeitgeist: Addendum. I didn't know it was out already. Let it load overnight from Google Video and just watched it now.

It's so rare that a documentary like this can move me to tears just by the thought of what society could be like, of what we could do for each other, of the potential mankind could finally realise if we escaped this chokehold...
It's hard to fathom as a possible reality. I was asking myself questions that defeated the point, and I realised their absurdity, but I couldn't understand some things entirely. Resources... how do you stop people from being selfish and greedy in a resource-based society? How do you control fair shares? This is stuff I have to research for myself, and plan to later.

You cannot deny facts, historical evidence, personal accounts... there is no agenda from these people. The first film was powerful. This was the perfect follow-up.

I've always doubted investing my time in things, you know. Everything has always seemed pointless, somehow. Why fund that one child when the money probably doesn't even go to them, why devote yourself to religion, why bother with charity in general, why volunteer for things, why. For the first time, this... this is a feasible thing that I would give time to for the scale of it, the benefits... it's a worldwide benefit. I want this. I want to live in this world. Nothing is perfect, but it eliminates so much suffering...

Don't debate this with me. Judge it for yourself. Watch it. Don't just brush it off. The only way to be sure of what you know and believe is to experience all sides of an argument, expand your mind and make it up for yourself.
